Proposal to put cattle on Kingwood common
Even though the majority of those who use or live by Kingwood common, plans are still being pursued to fence the common in and opening it up for grazing.
Nigel Wooding, a leading protagonist of cattle and fencing and a Rotherfield Peppard Parish Councillor, has recently written in the Autumn 2009 Peppard News that the Conservators have still taken no notice of the views of those who appose the changes.
Stephen Fenwick-Paul of Thames Valley Veggies said "The last thing the world needs is more cattle especially under the guise of conservation. The WHO and many other organisation have placed cattle above all others, including cars and planes, as having the greatest negative impact on global warming".
The changes will also be detrimental to walkers, dog owner, mountain bikers and horse riders who use the the common.
There will be a Parish Council Meeting on Monday 12th October at 7.30pm in the Sports Pavilion Stoke Row Road where the Council will again consider the Conservators plans for Kingwood Common. Matt Stevens of BBOWT and Jeremy Simon Chairman of the Conservators are scheduled to attend.
