T3V and Veggie Snow on BBC Berks

Thames Valley Veggies were live for about 40 minutes on BBC Radio Berkshire today. Sophie Fenwick-Paul was interviewed in the studio by Tim Smith of Radio 2 fame, feeding him yummy vegan muffins. You can listen again on line, starting at about 10:20am Saturday 23 Feb 08, until about 12 noon, with mentions running on after that occasionally too.

Firebombs set back those who care about animals

We were really distressed to hear that the recent firebombs in Reading were allegedly planted by animal rights activists.

This wasn't just because they were placed a few doors down from our house. The real threat here is that all who care about animals and do something to improve their lot, like being veggie or vegan, get tarred with the brush of these violent extremists. We couldn't be more different.

Now we fear that whenever we speak up for the animals people will abuse us by associating all veggies with these awful firebombs and terrorising tactics.

Whoever you are out there, let it be known, violent and abusive behaviour is abhorent. Change to positive behaviour lest you become far worse than those you attack. Positive action is the only way to persuade people to change: support the development of alternatives to animal experiments, encourage and aid animal-free eating for all, be a postive role model to those around you. And if you can't do this, doing nothing is better for the animals than what you did the other night.

New glossy mag for the veggie-friendly

Second edition of Lifescape has been released. A lot more vegan in content than the first, include a little article by Stephen.

Lifescape is all the usual things: flamboyant, sassy, city-lifish, superficially superficial. But one thing is really refreshing: it's got a foundation of principles, be they veggie, eco-friendly or ethical shopping.
