A swanky new restaurant replacing the Fox pub. High quality Indian food with great service. It's well placed for lovely walks and mountain bike rides in the Chilterns too.

On the face of it there is an unexceptional amount obvious choice for veggies and vegans. However Mr Miah the owner has an enthusiasm to follow up requests and make or convert special dishes, even on the spot, although he can do more with notice. With encouragement from all of us they might make their published vegetarian and vegan menu items more interesting too - give it a go!

Mr Miah's aim is to have soya milk in stock at all times too. Even veggie Indian restaurants don't usually do that!

Sunday lunchtime is a buffet service, which has some vegetarian and vegan vegetable dishes. If you ring an hour or more ahead they will bring you some extra dishes to your table, such as channa masala and tarka dhal to make a full meal of it for you. A very good value way to get stuffed silly!

Children

Dishes are generally unusually mild (unless you ask to have them spiced up), so children love them. This is rather unusual for any Indian restaurant, and a real relief to curry-crazy parents.

There is a patio and garden, and they are doing up the play area for the Summer.

Directions

Just to the northwest of Reading on the Wallingford road, popularly known as the Seven Bends of Death. Just drive carefully and you'll be fine, or go the back way through Kidmore End - this place is not far from the National Cycle Network route from Reading.

We were very pleased to hear an event is to be held here. We have eaten here a couple of times and had takeaways since it opened. They are extremely helpful in what you can and cannot eat and the service excellent and food delicious. The menu for the event looks amazing I will certainly be booking!
