A standard small Holland and Barrett, but perhaps the best Reading has to offer in the way of health food shops.
On pedestrian-only Union Street more widely known as Smelly Alley, running from Eyesite on Friar Street down to the Carphone Warehouse on Broad Street. Handily close to the good value fresh fruit and veg of Dudmans.
You can also go to the Holland & Barrett in the Mall as you can check out GNC at the same time, but the Smelly Alley one is the beter and has the biggest chiller. However, all three can be quite variable in their stock and stock levels; this one is more likely to have the organic Redwood's products and Linda McCartney sausage rolls. Friday is the day they re-stock the fridges in all of them.
The staff are more happy and friendly here in the Smelly Alley branch.
