Description
A large new town centre East Asian restaurant with friendly
staff.

A wide range of tasty veggie options (though watch out for fish
oil in Thai dishes labeled veggie and other mis-labeled dishes!).
Vegan dishes include: salt spiced tofu, lettuce wraps, satay
mushrooms and fried onion rings for starters; bean curd in black
bean and chili sauce, bean curd in sweet and sour and spicy veggie
Singapore vermicelli for mains.

"We tried out the £5.50 lunch menu here at the weekend, and it is very good value- starter and main included. The food was very fresh tasting and the portions definitely sufficient for even my very hungry boyfriend!. There were (I think) 6 different meal 'plans' which the staff were happy for us to swap about with, mainly involving bean curd- but that's o.k with me as I love the stuff. The atmosphere was a bit lacking, as the restaurant was quiet and the service a touch haphazard, but it is a gorgeous eating space; we will definitely be returning to try out the evening menu which has lots of lovely looking veggie options. "We went here for lunch today after looking at the menu in the window last week and noticed a lot of veggie dishes. We said what we didn't eat and had the vegan passport on hand but the gentleman there had a good understanding of vegan/strict veggie diet - the majority of the veggie dishes were vegan but he said the some of the Thai dishes listed as veggie had fish oil in them (why is this so common?) and there were a couple of wrongly listed items which he pointed out. We opted for the buffet which was £12.90 a head but it wasn't a ready prepared help yourself buffet, it's ordering freshly prepared dishes from the menu which are marked with B for buffet. They also do a £5.50 lunch menu We had salt spiced tofu, lettuce wraps, satay mushrooms and fried onion rings for starters. These were good-sized dishes. (It states on menu that uneaten buffet dishes will be charged at full menu prices to save people wasting food which is good and curbed my usual 'eyes bigger than stomach) For main we had bean curd in black bean and chili sauce, bean curd in sweet and sour and spicy veggie Singapore vermicelli. We had a lovely meal in nice surroundings. It's a big place with great decor. Staff were friendly, service was great and we were impressed. Would make a great venue for an event and they said they could do extra vegan dishes if required! Highly recommended - go along and try for yourselves!"
