Chiltern College is both a preschool nursery and a training college for nursery nurses. It is a charitable status private nursery that accepts nursery vouchers also.
Chiltern College Nursery has high standards of excellence, and that includes covering special diets, such as vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free and food intollerance. Not only can you rely on the food to be what you've asked for, they check new menus with you and make the food really interesting. All cakes are vegan so everyone can share them.
When we first used this nursery 5 years ago, they were pretty good already, but by sharing books with the caterers and giving them the Animal Free Shopper, as well as meeting with them at the beginning, things got even better.
All the nursery staff are very conscientious and even check the food colouring in the play materials with us!
A vegetarian nursery nurse who works there told us that it was the only nursery she'd worked at where the vegetarian options were reliable and excellent. It's compulsory there for the nursery staff to try the kids food, so it's just as well!
