Description
If you want vegan food you must give them a little notice
beforehand (preferably 24 hours). But your planning will be well
rewarded. We were impressed, though we haven't been again
recently so please add your reviews below.

Surrounded by good walking.

The standard menu is unlikely to have anything truly vegetarian.
Do not assume that the cheese is vegetarian - ask first. We have
reports that with the change of management the standard menu has
only one veggie dish - so all vegetarians should phone in advance
if they are interested in eating here.

"The Bull at Stanford Dingley has changed hands. They have vegetarian menu items as standard, but not vegan. The new proprietor/chef Alistair spoke extensively to me when I booked, to understand the needs of vegans. He is keen to offer a good service to vegans. I was served a roast vegetable ratatouille for my starter, and a chickpea and couscous dish for my main. The vegetables were fresh, the portions generous, and I enjoyed the meal. They didn't feel able to offer dessert other than fresh fruit. With more experience, they should be able to develop more sophisticated dishes. I left a copy of Vegan Catering for All, so they should now be primed for more vegan visitors! "

"Have been here twice as the only vegan in a family party. Each time, after ringing a few days beforehand, I was offered a CHOICE of two starters and two mains, pretty good I thought as there is nothing vegan on the menu apart from I think an aubergine dish. Each time I chose a big plateful of yummy vegetable tempura with chilli sauce. So definitely thumbs up to the Bull. But when will chefs learn to make vegan puddings? Oh well, there's always lemon sorbet... "
