AVN Score: Binfield Heath Picnic Village green and lovely playground

Picnic destination

A tree-rimmed calm open grassy space in a sleepy village just to the NE of Reading. To one side it has an excellent children's playground for 1-10 year olds, but is a nice relaxed place to hang out even if you are not a kid or even fond of them.

It has a small shelter if a shower passes through. There is a picnic table for those who prefer not to sit on the grass.

Several footpaths lead off from near here, and gentle walks without much gradient, but maybe some mud, are possible.

There are a fair few quiet (outside of rush hour) lanes round here for a bit of road cycling, and there are good bridleways not far away for mountainbiking.
