In the past have been disappointed with our meal but really believe that is the exception to the rule and must be when the normal chef is not on. I think it is important to stress you are vegan and what that means to the waiter and then you are fine. We went to the organised event and they had done amazingly well so we started going again. On several occasions the chef has come out to see us and they could not have done better. Mistakes do happen, but 95% of the time this place is so good don't let a negative experience put you off.

Well, I gave this restaurant another shot, and I'm convinced this place is not so vegan-friendly, though I am not 100% sure. About 2 hours later I had a serious migraine, so I think they use MSG. Also, I had a rather phlegmy throat the next morning. My guess is that I had some dairy as well....

In terms of organising a meal here, the Spice Oven went out of their way, in all respects, to make the meal a really special night.

This is a fantastic restaurant for vegans - we have our own menu! An amazing array of different and unusual dishes, breads and sides. The staff are always very helpful and the chef is always willing to create any variation on a dish you would like. I've been here lots and haven't even nearly gone through the vegan menu - a treat!

It all kind of tasted the same, and not very good, either.... I have my doubts as to whether or not it was actually vegan....
