<title>Chimps aren't us - so why do we want to give them human rights?</title>
  <link>http://www.t3v.veggroup.org/events/1749.html</link>
<description>A presentation and debate about whether chimps are the same as us or not, and therefore should be treated the same as humans. (t3v Sophie comments: I always wonder why just because an animal is not like us we have to be cruel to them? So which ever way the debate goes, what's the difference?). Being courteous and informative, whatever side of the debate you are on, will help you to be listened to. Allison who told us about this but can't make it says 'However I would have gone and if I had I'd probably have tried to find some opportunity to mention the proposed parliamentary bill being put forward by the safer medicines group and also all the latest research into animal intelligence, which wouldn't have been out when tests were first done on animals.' Where is Reading Caf&#233; Scientifique held? Caf&#233; Scientifique Reading events take place at the D&#233;j&#65533;&#xa0; vu Bar and Eatery: 61 St. Mary's Butts, Reading, RG1 2LG. They take place on selected Monday evenings throughout the year and start at 7.30pm. There is no entry fee and all are welcome.</description>
