Day of Action against farrowing crates outside Marks & Spencer

piglets in crates At Marks and Spencer At Sonia Waddell Protected email address

17th March 2007 - the event starts at 00:00.

Description

It's all about pigs and banning farrowing crates - yes they are still used - isn't it awful?! Do your bit to make people aware and shame M&S into not buying in pork from farrowing crate farms.

Viva! has instigated this day of action against Marks and Spencer around the UK. It's called a Mother's Day day of action as it's about mother animals and is the day before Mother's Day.

It's nice to do these things as a small crowd, just handing out leaflets and chatting to people. So contact us if you'd like to join in and do your bit for those poor pigs. Viva! have all the leaflets and posters we need, and we just have to ask them to send some, so do tell Sonia if you are thinking of coming so that we'll have enough. Say which time of day would suit you best, as we'll probably concentrate on a couple of hours.

And maybe we'll go for a coffee or a meal afterwards too!

What are farrowing crates?
