Vegetables are nothing to be afraid of even when they look like these chaps. In fact vegetables are your best friends when it comes to having a healthy life.

Can you create a vegetable (or any plant) monster picture? Use whatever hand made medium you like (such as drawing, collage, painting, digital photo print of your hand-made statue, etc).

Prizes

There are prizes to be had from Shakeaway, Lush, Cafe Iguana, Garlands Organic and GNC.

Entries will be judged in age categories and there's no upper limit, so adults can join in the fun too.

All entries will be going up on the walls of Cafe Iguana, with overflow into Shakeaway both in Reading town centre, from Saturday 20th May.

many pictures will remain up until Sat 3rd June (please collect your artwork by then if you want it back)

The sooner you get your art in the sooner it will be on display. We've already recieved some lovely entries from the Hill School's teatime club before the competition has even officially started!

We'll also be placing entries on a special gallary on this website.

Dates

  • Submit your entry to Cafe Iguana from Saturday 20th May until 2pm Sat 27th May. (Don't forget to include your name, age and contact details on your submission.)
  • Judging will take place at 3pm on Sat 27th May and will be annouced at T3V's free food fair in Broad Street Mall.

Submission Rules:

  • Only one entry per person (preferably about A4 size). In the early stages of the competition display you may (at the discretion of Café Iguana) have more entries on show under the same name, but must mark clearly which one you intend to be your competition entry and which ones are not, otherwise any entry may be invalidated.
  • Put the artist's name and age on front of picture, contact phone or school name & phone on reverse . Only winners who are contactable by 10th June will receive prizes.
  • Entries to be submitted from 20th May, last entries by 2pm Sat 27th May .
  • Submissions to be taken/posted directly to Café Iguana, St Mary's Butts, Reading (opposite Pizza Express), or multiple entries from schools may be collected by prior arrangement with T3V Contact Us
  • The judge's decision will be final.
  • If you would like your picture back please collect it from display at Café Iguana / ShakeAway by close of business on 3rd June 2006. Be aware that damage to or loss of your picture is possible at any time, and no one can take responsibility for this.
