The following information on the event is from Slough Town Council:

"The Big Green Day Out will be held on Saturday the 28th May 2005 in the Town Square and along the High Street. We hope to involve as many people as possible to ensure maximum community participation, hence choosing a bank holiday Saturday and the town centre. The day will be informal and family-orientated with lots of fun things for children and adults to get involved with. We also hope that by capturing the public's attention on the high street we will ensure maximum participation."

"There will be stalls along with informal and fun activities, which will offer the chance to engage and educate the community on a variety of issues. We are also organising themed activities for children and plan to have interactive street performances."

"We intend to use this event to generate enthusiasm about sustainable development, community work, health and the environment as well as encouraging residents to get more involved in current initiatives and projects in their neighbourhood."
