Description

Vanessa has organised a special menu for the evening. You can choose to have 2 or 3 courses from this lovely vegan/veggie spread.

* Rustic Country Bread & Olives *
Starters
* Potato and leek soup *
* Asparagus dip with pea and dill risotto *
* Char grilled polenta on red chard and watercress salad *
Mains
* Oven baked field mushrooms layered with butternut squash & beef tomatoes topped with black olive tapenade *
* Roast 1/2 aubergine stuffed with red onion, garlic, cherry tomatoes and oyster mushrooms in a gaspachio sauce *
* Char grilled red pepper filled with sweet potatoes, pine nuts, artichokes on a parsnip rosti *
Desserts
* Mixed sorbets *
* Summer pudding with mango coulis *
* Poached pears with caramelised fruit *

* Fresh coffee *

* soya milk and soya cream provided *


This is a completely one-off menu for our group and we can reward the Bel & Dragon for the work they have put into this by booking to come along (see below).

Price

  • £15 for a 2 course meal
  • £18.95 for a 3 course meal

What happened on the night

It was one of the best nights for a while. I think I counted 20 of us.

There's some chat about it on the forum

Rob White, hopefully soon to be MP for Reading East, was our celebrity for the night.
